CHT-MC-11, Cherokee Turnpike Cable Barrier and Pavement Rehabilitation

Oklahoma Turnpike Authority

Hudson Prince Engineering & Inspection provided construction management, inspection, and materials testing services for a $11.6 million safety and pavement rehabilitation project along 32 miles of the Cherokee Turnpike in Mayes and Delaware Counties. The project included installation of cable barrier along the median, along with pavement patching and diamond grinding to improve overall roadway condition and safety.

Serving as a key member of the construction team, Hudson Prince provided resident engineering, project management, construction inspection, survey support, and materials testing coordination. The team maintained consistent field presence, supporting daily construction operations, documenting progress, and ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.

The project presented unique challenges, including the absence of original survey data and cross sections, as well as the need to maintain safe traffic operations across an active corridor with multiple concurrent work activities. Through proactive coordination and field-driven problem solving, Hudson Prince supported the successful delivery of safety improvements and long-term performance enhancements along this critical turnpike corridor.
