Hudson Prince Engineering & Inspection provided cultural resources and environmental services for the replacement of the County Road EW-490 bridge over Panther Creek in Pawnee County, Oklahoma. The project involved replacing a functionally obsolete 1937 structure that had been closed to traffic due to deterioration and insufficient width, along with improvements to the roadway approaches to restore safe and reliable access.
Hudson Prince led the cultural resources effort in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation Cultural Resources Program (CRP). Services included records review, archival research, reconnaissance of the historical built environment, and archaeological field investigations to identify and assess cultural resources within the project area. No resources requiring documentation were present within the project area. The team prepared technical reports to support agency consultation.
In addition to cultural resources services, Hudson Prince completed the full NEPA process, including preparation of a Categorical Exclusion (CE), biological studies, jurisdictional waters and wetlands assessments, and hazardous materials evaluation. Through early identification of cultural and environmental constraints and coordination with ODOT and regulatory agencies, Hudson Prince helped streamline project development and position the project for efficient environmental clearance.
