Hudson Prince Engineering & Inspection provided cultural resources and environmental services for the replacement of the County Road NS-439 bridge over a tributary to Little Buffalo Creek in Latimer County, Oklahoma. The project included replacement of an aging bridge structure and improvements to roadway approaches to enhance safety and long-term serviceability along this rural corridor.
Hudson Prince conducted cultural resources investigations in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and ODOT CRP requirements. Services included background research, review of archaeological and historical records, field survey (including excavation of archaeological test units and a reconnaissance of the built environment), and documentation of identified resources within the study area. One newly recorded archaeological site was documented. The team evaluated the site for NRHP eligibility and prepared technical documentation to support coordination with ODOT, SHPO, and consulting tribes.
As part of a broader environmental effort, Hudson Prince also led preparation of a Categorical Exclusion (CE), including biological assessments, threatened and endangered species evaluations, jurisdictional waters and wetlands delineation, and hazardous materials review. Additional coordination included farmland impact evaluation with USDA/NRCS. By integrating cultural resources early in the environmental process, Hudson Prince helped minimize impacts and support a streamlined path to environmental clearance and project advancement.
