Lost Creek Bridges (Indigo & Stateline); Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma

Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma

Hudson Prince Engineering & Inspection provided engineering design services for the Lost Creek Bridges Project in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, consisting of the replacement and improvement of two bridge structures and associated roadway approaches. The project presented significant complexity due to its location within a regulated floodplain and hydraulic influences extending across state lines into Newton County, Missouri.

The project required extensive coordination with multiple agencies and stakeholders, including the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma, Ottawa County Floodplain Management, FEMA, and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), as well as consideration of regulatory requirements in adjacent jurisdictions. Detailed hydraulic modeling was performed to evaluate backwater impacts and demonstrate compliance with strict floodplain criteria.

Due to site constraints and frequent overtopping conditions, the design incorporated specialized structural and roadway considerations, including erosion-resistant features, enhanced scour protection, and embankment stabilization measures to ensure long-term performance and resilience. The project also required coordination with a concurrent streambank restoration effort to align hydraulic performance and construction sequencing.

This project demonstrates Hudson Prince’s ability to successfully navigate complex, multi-jurisdictional projects while delivering resilient, compliant infrastructure solutions in highly constrained environmental conditions.
